The managing director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mohammed Bello Koko, has promised to transform the nation’s Seaports in line with global standards.

He said this while addressing members of the Senate Committee on Privatization and Commercialization led by Senator Theodore Orji, who visited the NPA.

Already, Bello Koko, noted that the Authority has created the enabling environment for a well-structured inter-modal system for seamless connectivity of the waterways, rail, and road transportation.

Also, he said that the reforms introduced by the Federal Government have already made a significant impact on Port productivity, adding that the dividends are evident in the areas of reduced cargo dwell time, improvement in cargo throughput, ship turn-around time, and the drastic reduction in security incidents within and around the Port environs.

Similarly, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Theodore Orji, said that the Committee would work collaboratively with the NPA Management with the view to resolve all bottlenecks militating against ease of doing business at the Ports.
