A Container ship NORDIC ITALIA struck Polish fishing boat DZI 18 early in the morning September 30, 2022, 30 nm NE of Swinoujscie, Poland, while en route from Szczecin to Helsinki, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “Container ship NORDIC ITALIA struck Polish fishing boat DZI 18 early in the morning Sep 30 30 nm NE of Swinoujscie, Poland, while en route from Szczecin to Helsinki. Container ship dragged fishing boat in her bow for about an hour, until finally, ship’s watch spotted the boat and responded.
“3 crew of DZI 18 were injured and hospitalized, the boat was severely damaged, but remained afloat. NORDIC ITALIA interrupted voyage and returned to Swinoujscie, where she was anchored. Was in the same position as of 1300 UTC October 1, 2022.
