A General cargo ship JOE 2 sank early in the morning of April 5, 2023, off Kumluca, Antalya Province, NW of Cyprus, while en route from Iskenderun Turkey to Izmail Ukraine, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Of 14 crew on board, 5 were rescued, 9 are missing, SAR under way. No information yet on disaster cause.

“General cargo ship JOE 2, IMO 9070515, dwt 3114, built 1993, flag Guinea-Bissau, manager? – understood has been sold, renamed, and re-flagged in 2023.”
