Tug underway to take disabled bulker on tow, South Atlantic
maritime accidents rise 4.2% to 636 in 8 months

Bulk carrier ZILOS, disabled by an explosion on August 31, 2021 as of September 7, 2021, is still adrift, according to FleetMon.

It stated; “Bulk carrier ZILOS, disabled by an explosion on Aug 31, as of Sep 7 is still adrift, understood she’s to be towed to Montevideo by offshore tug RG WARRIOR (MMSI 701120000).

“Captain of bulk carrier reported to MRCC Uruguay, according to local sources, that the crew will be able to restart the engine and the ship will reach Montevideo under own power, but it seems unlikely.”
