By Eyo Nsima

Nigeria Conservation Foundation, (NCF) and the Lagos State Government have successfully completed their walk for a nature program.

The event, which had, ‘Conserve Biodiversity Sustain Humanity’ was held in Lagos, Nigeria on October 23, 2021.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Belo, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Belinda Ronke Odeneye, said the main objective of the exercise was to promote environmental awareness while promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Also speaking, the chairman of NCF, Chief Ede Dafinone, who highlighted the various environmental problems, noted that the single-use of plastic has impacted negatively on society.

He said humans are also affected, especially as the plastics get to streams, rivers, and oceans, where fishes abound, thus leading to cancer and other diseases.
