SCH Logistics has signed a multi-year lease with the Peel Ports Group for a major expansion at the Port of Liverpool, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “The lease involves the expansion of a car storage and transporter park at the Port of Liverpool. The deal was first reached on the 8th of November. As a part of this $1.2 million project, the size of a car storage and transporter park at the Port of Liverpool will be increased by 25%. The expansion is driven by the growing demand for processing vehicles at the port.
“The expansion project will increase the size of the car storage and transporter park from 8 acres to 10 acres. Peel Ports stated that they have used a sustainable alternative to asphalt in building the extended hub.
“Newly manufactured vehicles will arrive at the port on a RoRo vessel. Following this, the vehicles will be unloaded and stored at the new 2.3-acre hub by the SCH staff. These cars will then be delivered to the customers via the transport fleets and the dealer networks of their respective car manufacturers. Peel Ports has stated that this will increase the processed volumes from all across Europe and the US.”
