Cunard Cruises’ Queen Elizabeth skipped its port of Call in Bali due to a Covid outbreak onboard, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Around 10 to 15% of the ship’s 2000 passengers and 1000 crew are estimated to have tested positive. Cunard lines’ Queen Elizabeth departed from Sydney on November 7th on a 17-day cruise. The ship was scheduled to call on Bali on 28th November, but plans were changed after a covid outbreak onboard. In accordance with local restrictions of Bali and after discussions with the Indonesian authorities Queen Elizabeth bypassed this port of call.

“Instead, the ship was directed to the port of Fremantle in Australia, which was the endpoint of its journey. It is expected to arrive at Fremantle on 2nd December. The ship had already called on Airlie Beach, Cairns, Port Douglas, and Darwin. Bali was the last port of call before return in the ship’s itinerary.

“Passengers who tested positive onboard Queen Elizabeth are required to undergo isolation for 5 days. A negative rapid antigen test must be taken to release the passengers from isolation. Free tests have been made available to the passengers and their close contacts.
“There has been no statement regarding compensation if any to the passengers for the trip being cut short.”
