Aframax tanker ZEPHYR I collided with container ship GSL GRANIA at around 0430 LT (UTC +8) September 27, 2022, in Malacca Strait halfway between Malacca City and Singapore, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Aframax tanker ZEPHYR I collided with container ship GSL GRANIA at around 0430 LT (UTC +8) Sep 27 in Malacca Strait halfway between Malacca City and Singapore, understood both container ship and tanker in load were sailing in the same eastern direction.
“Tanker struck container ship stb stern, both ships sustained heavy damages, both ships have been anchored after collision and as of 2250 LT remained anchored. Tanker loaded with bitumen was en route to China, container ship was en route from Savannah to Tanjung Pelepas, ETA September 27, 2022.”
