A Captain of Chinese bulk carrier HC UNITY reportedly went missing on December 26, 2023 at Bontang Anchorage, Kalimantan, Makassar Strait, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “44-year old Captain of Chinese nationality wasn’t yet found, not alive, nor dead. Search team including divers continues searching.

“Details of incident unknown, investigation is still going on. The ship arrived at Bontang Anchorage on Dec 10, from China.”
