MARITIME ACCIDENT: Nohoch Alfa platform catches fire

A fire broke out at 5:25 a.m. local time on July 7, 2023, at the Nohoch Alfa platform processing center in the Cantarell oil and gas field, Bay of Campeche, Mexico, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “The state-owned company said 321 workers were evacuated. A press release by the state-owned oil company said that an explosion on the Nohoch-Alfa joining platform caused the blaze, which spread to a compression platform.
“Of the 328 workers present at the time of the incident, 321 have been successfully evacuated. Firefighting continues extent of the fire and damages unclear so far.”
