Two General cargo ships have collided after moving toward Turkish ports, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “General cargo ships ANT and POTENTIA collided at around 1200 UTC Jun 2, 9 nm north of the northwest tip of Chios Island, Greece. ANT was sailing in the northern direction, en route from Egypt to Reni Ukraine.

“POTENTIA was sailing due west, en route from Izmir to Dieppe France, so both ships collided while proceeding by crossing courses. The extent of damages is unknown, both ships remain lay dead in the water near the collision site with several ships, including pass-by cargo ships, around, on standby.

“So it might be assumed that both ships sustained serious damages. No injuries reported.”
