A fire erupted in the engine room of cargo ship GUO XIN 1 in the morning of January 30, 2023, off Lamma Power Station in Hong Kong, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “1 crew died, 12 were evacuated, and the fire was extinguished in about 2 hours. The ship was understood to be anchored off Power Station soon after the fire broke up and remained anchored, AIS is on.

“Fire erupted in the engine room of cargo ship GUO XIN 1 in the morning of January 30, 2023, off Lamma Power Station, Hong Kong. 1 crew died, 12 were evacuated, and the fire was extinguished in about 2 hours.

“The ship understood to be anchored off Power Station soon after the fire broke up, and remained anchored, AIS is on.”
