A Container ship CAPE CORTIA suffered a fire, reportedly in the engine room, on the morning of January 30, 2023, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Container ship CAPE CORTIA suffered fire, reportedly in the engine room, in the morning Jan 30, on approaches to Balboa, Panama Canal.

“Fire was extinguished by Panama city firefighters, the ship was taken to Panama International Terminal PSA, Balboa, and berthed at around 1650 UTC January 30, 2023.

“Understood fire was confined to engine room only. The ship arrived from Chile.”
