COVID-19: Confirmed cases rise to 165,370 in Nigeria

The confirmed cses of Coronavirus pandemic have risen to 183,444 in Nigeria, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

It stated: “On the 17th of August 2021, 357 new confirmed cases and 6 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 183444 cases have been confirmed, 167459 cases have been discharged and 2229 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 357 new cases are reported from 12 states- Rivers(170), Ondo (38), Gombe (34), Ogun (20), Ekiti (20), FCT (18), Anambra (16), Oyo (13), Kwara (10), Imo (6), Bayelsa (6), Edo (6).”
It added: “A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
