COVID-19: Confirmed cases rise to 177,142 in Nigeria

The confirmed cases of coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria have risen to 177,142, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

In its latest report, the NCDC, stated: “On the 6th of August 2021, 565 new confirmed cases and 3 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 177142 cases have been confirmed, 165409 cases have been discharged and 2181 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 565 new cases are reported from 17 states- Lagos (348), Rivers (70), Akwa Ibom (45), Oyo (36), FCT (24), Ekiti (15), Kwara (7), Ogun (7), Gombe (3), Anambra (2), Kaduna (2), Bayelsa (1), Cross River (1), Edo (1), Plateau (1), Kano (1), and Sokoto (1).

“Multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continue to coordinate the national response activities.”
