COVID-19: Confirmed cases rise to 166,982 in Nigeria

The confirmed cases of Coronavirus pandemic have risen to 166,982 in Nigeria, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

It stated: “On the 9th of June 2021, 64 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria. To date, 166982 cases have been confirmed, 163331 cases have been discharged and 2117 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 64 new cases are reported from 10 states- Yobe (18), Lagos (16), Delta (10), Katsina (7), Gombe (5), Edo (2), Kano (2), Rivers (2), Kaduna (1), and Kwara (1).”

It added: “A multi-sectoral national emergency operations center (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
