The Coronavirus pandemic cases have risen to 184,593 in Nigeria, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.

It stated: “On the 18th of August 2021, 1149 new confirmed cases and 7 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

“Till date, 184593 cases have been confirmed, 167738 cases have been discharged and 2236 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 1149 new cases are reported from 16 states- Lagos (680), Rivers (157), Akwa Ibom (94), Oyo (56), Edo (36), FCT (34), Ogun (31), Ekiti (20), Delta (16), Abia (5), Nasarawa (5), Osun (5), Cross River (4), Plateau (3), Sokoto (2) and Kano (1).”

It added: “A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 2, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
