Cargo ship HANGSHENG88 sank in the afternoon November 12, 2021, 40 nm off the coast of Huilai County, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Cargo ship HANGSHENG88 sank in the afternoon Nov 12 40 nm off the coast of Huilai County, eastern coast of Guangdong province, China, South China sea (east of Hong Kong), cause of accident unknown, understood there was water ingress, probably list.

“13 crew went into lifeboat and were rescued in the course of full-scale rescue operation, directed by Guangdong Maritime Safety Administration, all are safe. Ship’s AIS is off since June this year.”
