Action Group on Free Civic Space holds validation meeting for Security Playbook Research September 23

By Eyo Nsima

The Action Group on Free Civic Space (AGFCS), has concluded plans to hold a validation meeting for the AGFCS collective action research titled, The Security Playbook Research on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Lagos, Nigeria.

On behalf of AGFCS, SPACES FOR CHANGE, a non-profit organization working to infuse human rights into social and economic governance processes in Nigeria, which confirmed the planned event, stated that, “The collaborative study focuses on the rising misuse of digital technologies, counter-terrorism, and national security laws to restrict civic space in Nigeria.

“This research, supported by the Fund for Global Human Rights (FGHR), proceeds upon the premise that evidence-based information and analysis is a tool for early warning and effective advocacy action to expand the civic space.”

It added: “The validation meeting presents an opportunity for all the participating organizations and relevant stakeholders to review and analyze the research findings.”
