Container ship DEVON reportedly, suffered crack in portside fuel tank area, followed by oil leak, on Jun 16, some 260 nm SE of Chennai, India, in Bay of Bengal, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “The ship duly informed MRCC Colombo on accident, she was drifting for some time, resumed sailing, then stopped for the second time, and as of 1730 UTC Jun 17, was under way again.”

It also added: “She’s en route from Colombo Sri Lanka to Haldia, India, with 382 containers on board. All fuel in damaged fuel tank was pumped to another tank. Allegedly, some 10 tons leaked.”
