UPDATE: MSC mega container ship troubled in the Pacific

The ship changed the port of destination, now it’s Wakayama Japan. MSC ARIANA on tow of SHIN CHOU MARU meanwhile, lopp back and forth off southern Honshu in the Pacific, though ETA Wakayama is Apr 8. It was reported on April 7, 2021, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “MSC ARIANA suffered engine failure, she’s to be taken to the port for repairs. Engine failure according to MSC, was caused by poor-quality fuel.

“Approached by offshore tug SHIN CHOU MARU (IMO 9272840, Japan) on Apr 5, looks like towage has already commenced as of 0700 UTC April 3, 2021.”
