How Petrol price rises to N172/lit in March 2021

The price of petrol rose by 4.0 percent to N172 in March from N166 in February, according to the National Bureau of statistics, NCS.
In its latest report obtained by The Daily, https://thedaily-ng.com, NBS, stated: “Average price paid by consumers for petrol increased by 19 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and month-on-month (MoM) by 4.0 per cent to N172.68 in March 2021 from N166.24 in February 2021.
“States with the highest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Lagos (N200.87), Ebonyi (N184.17) and Niger (N183.50).
“States with the lowest average price of premium motor spirit (petrol) were Adamawa (N162.91), Taraba
(N162.67) and Bauchi (N164.00).”
The Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency, PPPRA, had in March fixed the pump price of PMS, also known as petrol, at N212.61 per litre, for the month of March.
Most filling stations currently sell the product at N170 per litre, while the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC sells it at N162 per litre.
