MARITIME: Zonguldak port immobilized by mine threat on ship from Russia

Zonguldak Port authorities, Turkey, Black sea coast, on June 24, 2023 were alerted by mine threat on board of general cargo ship AZOV FORWARD, berthed at port in the morning, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “The ship with cargo of ore arrived from Novorossiysk, Russia, at Zonguldak anchorage, on June 11, 2023. Mine or mines were reportedly, attached to hull. Crew was evacuated; part of port workers left their positions, too.

‘Understood no mines were found yet, inspection of underwater hull by divers was to be continued on Jun 25. Port activities have been stopped during search. Everything Russia is a mine threat nowadays, one way or another.”
