MARITIME: Second ship trying to break Russian blockade

By Our Correspondent

A second ship is attempting to break through Russian blockade of Ukrainian ports, bulk carrier PRIMUS left Odessa port on August 26, 2023, to sail to Varna Bulgaria, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “The ship left Odessa at around 0550 UTC, but something apparently, went wrong – she reduced speed an hour and a half later, then turned back and sailed to Odessa anchorage, where anchored, at around 1100 UTC. As of 1350 UTC, remained in the same position.

“The cause of interrupted voyage yet unknown – either direct threats from Russian Navy, or breakdown – bulk carrier, after all, was locked in Odessa for many months, since February 2022.”
