MARITIME: Bulk carrier aground in Martin Garcia channel, Rio de la Plata

A Bulk carrier CYMONA PRIDE ran aground at 104.2 kilometer mark in Martin Garcia channel, a waterway between the River Plate (and its Uruguayan ports) and the Uruguay River, Rio de la Plata, at around 0940 UTC November 3, 2023, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “The incident occurred while proceeding to Villa Constitucion port, Argentina, 43 km in Parana River. The ship according to Alpemar shipping agency report is loaded with 40750 tons of iron ore.
“Track shows the ship straying off fairway, she’s aground on probably, Channel’s edge.”
