Maritime accidents drop by 3.5% to 689

Globally, the number of maritime accidents, dropped by 3.5 percent to 689 in the first nine months of 2022, from 714 in the corresponding period of 2021.

According to data collated from FleetMon reports by The Daily, www.thedaily-ng.com,  the sector recorded 90, 77, 69, 75, 71, 71, 74, 86 and 76 accidents in January, February, March, April, June, July, August and September 2022.

It had earlier recorded 86, 80, 81, 85, 98, 71, 61, 74 and 78 in the corresponding months of 2021.
