By Our Correspondent

Contacts with deep-dive tour submersible TITAN were lost on June 19, 2023, in North Atlantic, in the TITANIC disaster site area, some 380 nm SE of Newfoundland, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Contacts with deep-dive tour submersible TITAN were lost on Jun 19 in North Atlantic, in TITANIC disaster site area, some 380 nm SE of Newfoundland. TITAN was diving into TITAN wreck on a tour.

“The USA and Canada Coast Guard joined forces in unfolding SAR, understood the first ship to search for any traces of missing submersible in the area is lighthouse vessel POLAR PRINCE (IMO 5329566), and probably, fishing vessels also.”

It added: “TITAN is a carbon fiber and titanium submersible with a depth range of 4,000 meters. Titan is the only sub in the world that can take five crewmembers to these depths.”
