A fire erupted in the cargo hold of bulk carrier SILVER LADY, berthed at Dordrecht Netherlands, at around 2130 CEST June 2, 2023, during scrap loading, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Fire erupted in the cargo hold of bulk carrier SILVER LADY, berthed at Dordrecht Netherlands, at around 2130 CEST June 2, 2023, during scrap loading.

“Fire spread also to scrap piled at the quay. Massive firefighting response managed to take the fire under control by 0030 CEST on June 3, 2023, and by 0100 fire was declared extinguished.

“There was a lot of black toxic smoke, firefighters ranker fire as “big”. After the fire was extinguished, offloading of already loaded scrap commenced.”
