An offshore support vessel NOR GOLIATH contacted brand new FPSO RUBY at Kakinada Anchorage, India, Bay of Bengal, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “The offshore support vessel NOR GOLIATH contacted brand new FPSO RUBY at Kakinada Anchorage, India, Bay of Bengal, causing damages to NOR GOLIATH gangway used to transfer offshore staff, and to FPSO RUBY staircases.
“NOR GOLIATH gangway broke in two with one part collapsing into water. Contact was caused by rough weather and high seas, nobody was injured. FPSO operator Reliance confirmed the accident on Oct 7. As of October 9, 2022, both vessels remained anchored off Kokinada.
“FPSO RUBY is to be deployed in deep-water MJ gas condensate development project. RUBY arrived at Kokinada last month from Samsung Heavy Industries, Korea, where she was built. Accident is said to result in 2-week delay in project scheduled works.”
