It stated: “Bulk carrier MARK W BARKER ran aground on Belle Island, Canadian site, in Detroit River, at around 0740 LT May 17, while proceeding from Detroit to Milwaukee.

“Remained aground as of 0900 LT, fairway might be partially blocked. No tugs nearby, so far.”
