MARITIME ACCIDENT:  Explosion, fire hit container ship in Dubai

A huge explosion followed by fire occurred on board of small regional container ship OCEAN TRADER at Dubai port, United Arab Emirate, UAE, at night or early in the morning July 8, 2021, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “The ship berthed at Dubai on Jul 7 after several days anchorage, understood she’s trading in the region.

“Most probably, container or containers with inflammable and/or explosives self-ignited and exploded. Fire is said to be under control, as of 0700 UTC Jul 8 the ship was in the same position with tugs at her side, AIS is on.”
