Disabled LPG tanker undertow in Bristol Channel

LPG tanker SEAGAS MAJOR with a load of LPG suffered a turbocharger breakdown early Feb 18 shortly after leaving Milford Haven, Wales, Celtic sea, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “Tanker was taken on tow but had to be anchored after towline broke. Attempts to resumed towage failed due to adverse weather.”
It added: “Finally, at around midday Feb 20, she was taken on tow by French tug BEVER (IMO 9492256), to be towed, it is believed, to Avonmouth Bristol. At 0330 UTC Feb 21 caravan was well into Bristol Channel, escorted by tug WELSHMAN.”
