JUST IN: FG engages 11 DisCos to invest N20bn on prepaid meters for Ban A consumers

THE Federal has started engaging 11 Eleven Nigerian electricity distribution companies, DisCos, to deploy N20 billion from their Metering Acquisition Fund, MAF, to provide prepaid meters to unmetered Band A customers by September 2024.

Checks by Vanguard, yesterday, indicated that the decision follows increased complaints that many Band A consumers, who get a minimum of 20 hours power supply daily are still unmetered, thus exposing them to exploitation.
