Despite limited investment, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC, has listed Algeria, Libya and Nigeria as the top three exploration nations in Africa.
The countries deployed 31, 14 and seven rigs respectively in their search for oil and gas in November 2021, compared to 29, 12 and eight utilized in the corresponding period of 2020.
The organisation, which identified the nations in its December 2021 Monthly Oil Market Report, MOMR, obtained by The Daily, www.thedaily-ng.com, also noted Angola, Gabon Congo and Equatorial Guinea as the third, fourth and fifth nations respectively.
