The Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria, has ruled on the ill-fated Thai bulk carrier CHAYANEE NAREE, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Ill-fated Thai bulk carrier CHAYANEE NAREE was court ruled to be put under arrest, together with her crew, by Federal High Court in Lagos, Nigeria, on Oct 28, the order came into force on October 29, 2021.

A case was filed by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). It’s all about 32.9 kilos of cocaine found in the cargo hold of the ship on October 15, 2021, after a wee-long search.”

Previously, FleetMon, had stated: “A bunch of Nigerian law enforcement agencies and Nigerian Navy, on October 15, 2021, trumpeted a big success in the war against drug trafficking, after they jointly detained a Thai bulk carrier CHAYANEE NAREE, which was drifting or moving in loops outside Nigerian waters south of Lagos since arrival from Santos, Brazil, on October 1, 2021, with ETA Lagos October 9, 2021.

“According to Nigerian official story, agencies were alerted by Nigerian Interpol, and intelligent report received from the UK Border Force.”
