Chevron Nigeria Limited, weekend, restated its commitment to working with stakeholders, including host governments, communities, our employees, and business partners in order to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient energy local and global market.

According to the company, this followed its realization that business success is tied to society’s progress.

In his message to the 2021 Social Responsibility Report of the company obtained by The Daily, www.thedaily-ng.com, Chairman and Managing Director, Chevron Nigeria/Mid-Africa Business Unit, Rick Kennedy, stated: “Despite recent challenges in the oil and gas industry, we remain focused on delivering that vision in an ethical, responsible, and sustainable way. We continue to work with all our stakeholders – host governments, communities, our employees, and business partners- to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient energy that improves lives while striving to meet social and environmental goals.

“We recognize that business success is tied to society’s progress, and that is the reason Chevron companies in Nigeria work with governments and communities across the country, and other partners to support strategic social investments in health, education, economic development, and the environment.

“Our 2021 Corporate Responsibility (CR) report highlights the successes we achieved during the period as well as the socio-economic impact of our strategic social investments in communities close to our operations and in Nigeria as a whole.

“The report shows how Chevron companies in Nigeria, with our partners, deliver sustainable performance in the country by protecting the environment, empowering our people, and getting results the right way – The Chevron Way.

“We are proud of our work in facilitating human progress and are grateful to our employees, partners and stakeholders who make this work possible.”

He also stated: “Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) has operated in the oil and natural gas fields of Nigeria and has been contributing to the growth and prosperity of the country for over 60 years. With its abundant supply of natural resources, Nigeria is among the world’s top oil and gas producers. We take great pride in the successes achieved during the over half century of our mutually beneficial relationship, and we are pleased to be partners in the enormous potential of Nigeria’s future.

“Chevron Nigeria supplies a significant percentage of Nigeria’s domestic gas supply volumes. Our work and partnership with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has created substantial economic opportunity for the Nigerian Government, our partners, and local communities.
