Bulk carrier heading for shelter after the explosion, fire, South Pacific

 

BERGE YOTEI (IMO 9866691) S Pacific NW of Magellan Strait, drifting since early May 2, 2021, from Argentina to Marsden Point New Zealand with a cargo of soy, ETA May 22, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Underway since May 3, sailing to Chilean port. The ship suffered fire and explosion early May 2, assumedly in a cargo hold.”

It also added: “She’s heading for Talcahuano Chile, ETA May 6. As of 1230 UTC May 5, she was sailing at some 13.5 knots speed NW of Puerto Montt, Chile.”
