BREAKING: Coleman Wires and Cables boss to speak as The Daily Africa Summit holds August 26, 2022

The Managing Director/CEO of Coleman Technical Industries Limited, Mr. George Olutope Onafowokan will be speaking at The Daily Africa Summit on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 11 am, West African Time, WAT.

According to the Chairperson, of the organizing committee, Mrs. Eyo Nsima, Mr. Onafowokan, a very successful business leader, will be speaking on, ‘Wiring & Cabling Key to Africa’s Industrialization: The Market, Problems, Prospects & Opportunities.

She said the important virtual event will be attended by over 200 stakeholders, including top CEOs, industry leaders, policymakers, consultants, investors, opinion leaders, financiers, consumers, business promoters, marketers, and journalists in Nigeria as well as other African nations and continents.

According to her, the event is very important as the wiring and cabling sector has been underestimated, despite its strategic place in the industrial development of Nigeria, Africa, and indeed other parts of the world, adding that the sector still presents investment and other opportunities to potential investors.

She said Mr. Onafowokan is imminently qualified as a Guest speaker, having led Coleman Technical Industries Limited, manufacturers of the popular brand, Coleman Wires & Cables from one stage to another in its evolution over the years as a leading operator in West Africa.

However, she said: “Mr. Onafowokan was the immediate past chairman of the Electrical and Electronic Sector of the Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN). He is currently on the EXCO of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

“He is an Accountant by profession, having obtained a combined Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Manchester Metropolitan University, Manchester UK. He thereafter obtained a Degree of Master’s in Management and Information Systems (Combined) from the University of Salford, U.K. He started his career in Packard Bell UK as Field Manager, where he shined in sales and marketing as well as customer relations. He thereafter joined PC World UK as Business Accounts Manager and later, Gem International UK Limited as the Pioneer Managing Director.

“As a worthy son of the soil, he returned to Nigeria in 2002 to lead the team to restructure Coleman Technical Industries Limited manufacturers of Coleman Wires & Cables, and grew the Company’s Assets from N50Million in 2002 to N15Billion by the end of 2014. Through his leadership, the Company has grown to be an industry leader in the Cable manufacturing industry by producing Coaxial TV/Video & Cat 5/Cat 6 cables which are the first for Nigeria & West Africa, and have taken it a notch higher by building the FIRST High Voltage XLPE cable production plant in West Africa, making Nigeria only the SIXTH country of production in Africa.

“He has taken another giant strive to establish a Marine/Ethylene Propylene Rubber Cables (EPR) factory that will be in operation by the end of the second quarter of 2021. The Marine Cables factory will be the first in-country facility in Nigeria and only the second in Africa.

“Mr. Onafowokan is a motivational speaker, business analyst, and a Seasoned Entrepreneur who is passionate about the Nigerian Dream.”

She added: “He presides over Coleman Wires and Cables, which is committed to manufacturing consistent quality wires and cables that meet and exceed customers’ expectations while ensuring the continual improvement of processes and services delivery through staff development, motivation, and creation of a conducive work environment towards achieving utmost customer satisfaction.”
