The Deputy Governorship Candidate, Zenith Labour Party, Prince (Barr.) Moses Adekoyejo Kassim, has promised to improve governance and develop Lagos state.

In a press statement – A Decision to Treasure – obtained by The Daily, www.thedaily-ng.com, Kassim, noted that all parts of Nigeria, including Lagos, are currently going through several serious challenges that need to be tackled.

According to him, “Nigeria is passing through an interesting time in her chequered political evolution and the citizenry has shown tremendous concern as we prepare for another political circle.

“The moment requires enthusiasm and patriotic zeal amongst us to stir the ship of the state to its desired destination where everyone will be proud to be part of it.

“I have been a firm believer in a United Nigeria where the rule of law, security, infrastructure, good education, industrialization, affordable housing & good health etc. will be the rule and not an exception. That explains my love and desire to always partake in the political process during elections and vie for elective positions that will afford me the opportunity to put in my very best for a better Nigeria where she will be a good reference point in the comity of Nations.

“The forthcoming general election in Lagos State is another opportunity for me, as a Democrat, to demonstrate the same love and concern for our fatherland as I was once again chosen by stakeholders of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) as the Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate for Lagos State.

“I have traversed the length and breadth of Lagos, met with artisans, market men and women, students, farmers, professionals etc. based on five points agenda to transform Lagos and the lives of the citizens.

“I believe my party and stakeholders therein have solutions to the problems confronting Lagos State, considered a mini Nigeria.

“As it is, the present situation in the state has worsened and the current state government leadership has disappointed the people. It is therefore required that a concerted effort should be made to wrestle out political power from the present Lagos State government leadership.

“Political tensions have been built up and there is anxiety in the land. It is therefore necessary for those anxious for a better and prosperous state to team up, align, and synergize with like minds to ensure that the right person with the popular political platform wins this coming election and leads Lagos State into prosperity.

“In view of this, consultations amongst some Political Parties have been made, and meetings have been held, simply for a common front to defeat the anti-people government and Party, as presently constituted in Lagos State.

“On the strength of the foregoing, I, Prince (Barr.) Moses Adekoyejo Kassim, the Deputy Governorship Candidate of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) Lagos, have consulted widely with relevant stakeholders, Party supporters, family members and friends on the need for such alignment with other political parties and benefits of such adventure.”

He added: “Note however that contrary to the publications on page 8 of This Day Newspaper and page 28 of The Punch Newspaper, both of 14th March, 2023 that we, ZLP Governorship and Deputy Governorship candidates and our members are not part and parcel of the purported alignment with the All Progressive Congress (APC), our governorship candidate, Comrade Adekunle Mode Adenipebi having denied such alignment with APC at the General Assembly platform of the Zenith Labour Party. Thank you and God bless and keep us alive to enjoy the fruits of our democracy in Lagos State and in Nigeria.”
