PIRACY: Another piracy attack in the Gulf of Guinea

The ship reportedly was attacked at around 0600 UTC Mar 14 in the Gulf of Guinea, some 2010 km south of Lagos, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “There’s only one merchant ship in this area, it’s a hapless tanker DAVIDE B, still hanging in the area since she was attacked on Mar 11, and 15 of her 21 crew kidnapped.

“Two Navy or security boats are positioned near the tanker, plus Nigerian offshore support ship QUA IBOE RIVER (IMO 9246360).”

It added: “QUA IBOE RIVER as of 1000 UTC was steaming in the southern direction and approached by security or navy fast craft.”
