A Crimean Bridge which connects Crimea and the Russian mainland was twice hit early in the morning on July 17, 2023, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “One span of car bridge collapsed, reportedly one pillar also collapsed, rail bridge remained (according to officials) intact. Crimean Bridge is of strategic importance for the Russian military fighting in Ukraine.

“Judging from the AIS screen, Kerch Strait is closed for transit to/from the Azov Sea. Operators of ships heading for Azov sea ports, are advised to remain alert, delays highly probable.”
