The winners of Veritas Kapital Assurance PLC CSR Quiz Competition for students in tertiary institutions have been rewarded with many gifts.
Executive Director (Operation), Veritas Kapital Assurance PLC, Mr. Olasunkanmi Adekeye dislosed that the initiative was targeted at promoting students’ interest in insurance.
Speaking during the presentation of various prizes in Lagos, Nigeria, Adekeye said: “Our CSR activities focus on three key areas: humanitarian, community service, and support. Before now, we have donated books to different higher education institutions. We also make financial contributions to the Paralympic Association in Abuja to carry out their activities. We also donated to hospitals in Bauchi State, among other interventions. Our CSR activities spread across the country.”
“Chiemerie Oguejiofor from the University of Lagos is the winner of the Veritas Kapital Assurance CSR Quiz Competition with a cash prize of N200,000, Alabi Oluwatomilola from the University of Ado-Ekiti came in second with a cash prize of N150,000; and Ehidiamen-Ton Tonica of Amadu Bello University came in third with a cash prize of N100,000.”
Similarly, Head of, Lagos Branch/Coordinator, Business Development (Southern Region), Christie Okwudishu, said: “When there is a crisis and you have legitimate claims, be assured that we will settle them. The uniqueness of our operation is that it is technology driven from start to finish. We have a WhatsApp code through which you can buy your motor policy, house policy, accident policy, and others from the comfort of your phone in less than five minutes. That is one of the innovations you can’t come by in any insurance company.”
However,the winner of the competition, Chiemerie Oguejiofor, said: “I am a final-year student with a strong ambition to further my education in this profession and am very happy that this cash prize will help me register for some valuable professional courses. This support is an encouragement to do more, and I will not disappoint the trust they have in me.”
