Illegal hawkers have virtually taken over the streets in Lagos, Abuja and other cities as petrol shortage worsen in different parts of Nigeria.

The Daily, www.thedaily-ng.com, which monitored the situation in various Nigerian cities, said the shortage has gone from bad to worse.

The hawkers were seen hawking petrol at various locations in cans, ranging between N300 and N400 per litre, depending on demand.
