The crew of General cargo ship CANTIKA PERSADA loaded with 1600 tons of fertilizers and anchored in Gresik Petrokimia Port waters, Gresik, Indonesia, has been rescued.

According to FleetMon, “General cargo ship CANTIKA PERSADA loaded with 1600 tons of fertilizers and anchored in Gresik Petrokimia Port waters, Gresik, Indonesia, dragged her anchor and drifted onto nearby anchored ship in the morning Jan 30, 2021.”

It stated: “CANTIKA PERSADA suffered hull breach in fore hold area, and massive water ingress. The ship developed heavy fore tilt and sank, resting on bottom and remaining partially above water. All 16 crew were evacuated.”
