Two Very Large Crude Oil tankers, Chinese FREYA and Iranian HORSE, were detained by Indonesian Maritime Security Agency in Pontianak waters, West Kalimantan, Indonesia, for illegal oil transfer, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “Both ships AIS were switched off (HORSE AIS off since Jan 12, FREYA AIS off since Jan 23), both didn’t respond to VHF calls, both covered their ID, including names and IMO.”

It added: “ Both tankers are taken to Batam, Singapore Strait, Indonesia, for investigation.”
