Container ship suffers attack in the Republic of Congo

Cargo ship was attacked at 0045 UTC Jan 4 at Pointe-Noire anchorage, Republic of Congo, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “According to attack coordinates and ships’ positions, container ship NILEDUTCH BREDA (IMO 9612765, dwt 47200, capacity 3510 TEU) seems to be the ship which was attacked.

“Not known yet if it was a robbery, or theft, or kidnapping, as well as the outcome. Awaiting ship’s ID confirmation and updates.”
