Tanker fire in engine room, 1 crew dead and 1 in critical condition
Product tanker MT SEALINK UTSHAB, anchored off Mongla port, Bangladesh, suffered fire in engine room in the afternoon May 23, 2021, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “4 crew were injured, including 2 motormen, one of whom died on the way to hospital, and another one is in critical condition, with some 70-80 percent body burns.
“The ship, loaded with about 1,900 tons of fuel, arrived from Chittagong. Local fire teams responded, fire was taken under control and extinguished, in a short time. Cargo remained intact.”
