Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has delivered the “VIKING SATURN” to the Viking Ocean Cruise line from its shipyard in Ancona, Italy, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “The vessel is the tenth in its class and is scheduled to debut soon in 2023, offering itineraries in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
“The “VIKING SATURN” is a small cruise ship weighing approximately 47,800 gross tons, with 465 cabins that can accommodate up to 930 passengers. Its modern Scandinavian-inspired design boasts all-veranda staterooms, spacious suites, and two pools, including an infinity pool off the stern. The ship also features a spa based on the Scandinavian tradition, a sauna, and a snow grotto.
“Los Angeles-based Rottet Studios and London-based SMC Design have designed the ship’s interiors. This ship has been built according to the latest navigation regulations and is equipped with modern safety systems, energy-efficient engines, and systems that minimize pollution from exhaust gases. The ship has been certified by Lloyd’s Register and features optimized hydrodynamics.
“The “VIKING SATURN” also features the Safe Return To Port (SrtP) mechanism. This is designed to ensure that a ship can return to port under its power in the event of an emergency, such as a fire, flooding, or other incident that renders the ship’s ability to operate safely.”
