MARITIME ACCIDENT: How Freighter ran aground and refloated in Denmark

A General cargo ship MISTRAL ran aground on the Coast of Funen Island in Little Belt, Denmark, according to FleetMon.

It stated: “General cargo ship MISTRAL ran aground on the Coast of Funen Island in Little Belt, Denmark, at around 0140 UTC Aug 12, while en route from Samso to Kiel.

“Master of the ship is already fined 10,000 DKK for failing to alert authorities as soon as the ship grounded. MISTRAL was still aground as of 1430 UTC.”

It added: “Refloated at around 1440 UTC, under way probably to Assens for inspection.”
