Six people crew members of tanker HALIMA died on February 4 or 5, at Lagos anchorage, Nigeria, according to FleetMon.
It stated: “6 people, understood crew members of tanker HALIMA, died on Feb 4 or 5, at Lagos anchorage, Nigeria.
“Understood they’ve been cleansing cargo tanks, so most probably, they died after inhaling toxic fumes in empty tanks.”
Similarly, in a statement obtained by The Daily, www.thedaily-ng.com, the Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT disclosed that a distress call was received from the ship through the Western Region Control Centre (WRCC) of the Falcon Eye, a Navy’s Maritime Domain Awareness facility.
The statement explained that a rescue party was dispatched from NNS BEECROFT’s taskforce at Atlas Cove which took off from Takwa jetty.
Specifically, it stated: “Accordingly, NNS BEECROFT taskforce stationed at Atlas Cove immediately cast off from Tarkwa Jetty to the vessel anchored at Latitude 06°20’58″N,
